Visa Queries

Documents required for employment visas:


Employer Must Provide:



  1. Employer must fill out the application form on the LMRA website.

  2. A copy of a valid activity license from the competent authority [For non-commercial institutions and non-governmental organizations].

  3. A copy of the latest electricity bill (private sector).

  4. Present the identity of the authorized applicant.

  5. A copy of the Worker’s CPR (if available).

Employees Must Provide:


1- A copy of the worker’s passport and a copy of the pages stating the father or husband name; for Indian subjects only. The passport must preferably be valid for two years, in all cases the validity must not be less than 6 months.


2- A copy of the employment contract between the foreign employee and the employer or the job offer agreed between them, the job offer must include:


           • The foreign worker's Name, Nationality, Signature.
           • The foreign worker's Passport Number.
           • Occupation.
           • Salary.


3- A copy of the Medical Checkup Certificate from one of the approved health centers in the foreign worker's home country.


4- For subjects of Bangladeshi citizenship: enquire using form below for further info.


NOTE:



  • LMRA’s total processing time is between 1 and 10 business days, if all necessary documents have been submitted.

  • The fee for a work permit / visa is BD.200 and for a dependent / family visa is BD.90 per dependent.

  • Employers will also pay a BD.10 monthly fee per expat employee.

  • Visa fees are subject to changes

  •  Renewal fees are the same for both categories.

  •  The duration of the work visa is 24 months but the duration of the dependent’s visa will only be equal to the validity of the primary worker’s visa.

To track Applications:



  • Use the application ID, that was used to apply for the visa and track it  online through LMRA's Web Services

  • LMRA can only discuss visa application related matters and follow-ups with the persons who have been registered at LMRA as authorized / responsible persons, and cannot disclose this information directly to the concerned employees and their families.

For a family visa (Dependents)


For Wife:Your employer (or his representative) registered with LMRA needs to apply at LMRA for your wife’s or children’s family visa (Online or at the customer service desk)



  • Documents Required:


  1. A copy of the CPR of the Husband (Both sides)

  2. A copy of the wife’s passport (Including the page that has the husband’s name – applicable for Indian and Pakistani Nationals only)

  3. A copy of the marriage certificate (notarized from Bahrain’s embassy in the home country, or the expat’s embassy + the dept. of foreign affairs in Bahrain)

  4. If the wife had been in Bahrain before and has had a CPR then we need a copy of that CPR too. (The CPR number should be entered in the required field on the application.)

  5. The husband’s stated salary registered at GOSI must be more than BD.250 Nett.

For Child:Employer needs to apply for your child's family visa; they need to fill-in the form and give us with:



  • Documents Required:


  1. Copy of the child's passport (and CPR number if he has a CPR)

  2. Copy of the father and Mother's CPRs (Both Sides) Copy of the mother's passport including the latest RP stamp and page 36 or 60 (The one containing Father's name- applicable for Indian and Pakistani Nationals only)

  3. Child's birth certificate, and copy of the CPR notification (If any)

Note:



  • Note: that if the child’s passport was issued in Bahrain, it must be first registered at the GDNPR’s office, before filing the application , also for children born in Bahrain , the CPR number is already allocated and printed on their birth certificate (The CPR number should be entered in the required field on the application.)
     

  • LMRA can only process visas for expat employees and their direct dependents only the wife and children of the employee can be regarded as direct dependents; this status cannot be extended to parents or brothers, sisters etc

  • Expat’s Children’s visas can only be issued by LMRA until they reach 18.

  • Any other type of visa (Like visit visas, investor visas, special cases, children over 18 etc…) is dealt with, directly by the General Directorate of Nationality Passports and Residency- GDNPR.
     

  • Entry and residency visas are under the jurisdiction of the GDNPR; however, LMRA only deals with work visas for expats and family visas their dependents as a one stop service.

  • All other types of visas are done outside LMRA and directly at the GDNPR. For more information check the e-visa site: http://www.evisa.gov.bh or www.gdnpr.gov.bh

  • This means that the information that we have about you has not been updated in that case the employer needs to submit an e-support ticket through www.lmra.bh/esupport and upload the relevant documents

  • Female expat employees as well as Bahraini females married to Non-GCC Nationals cannot sponsor their husbands on a “dependent” visa, husbands’ applications must be submitted through any employer as a normal “work visa”.

  • It is only possible for Female expat employee working in Bahrain to sponsor her children as direct dependants if the children’s father is not a Bahraini or resident in Bahrain. (i.e. the mother is a widow , divorcee , separated etc). These cases should first be referred to the General Directorate of Nationality Passports and Residency- GDNPR for special approval before an application can be submitted to LMRA

  • If an exoat child is born in Bahrain, after obtaining a new passport for the child you need to update their details (and open a file) in GDNPR then apply for the child’s family visa through LMRA. You must enter the correct CPR number on the application (the CPR number is printed on the birth certificate issued in Bahrain)

  • LMRA, has created the expat portal, for expats to stay informed and connected with LMRA at all times, through the expat portal you will be able to see your details, visa status and expiry date, details of your dependents etc. The expat portal is available here: https://www.lmra.bh/expatportal/login.php

Visa on arrival:


  Immigration Visa: It can be obtained by visiting Immigration website www.evisa.gov.bh


  For GCC residents:



  • You can obtain visa on arrival or can apply online www.evisa.gov.bh only if you satisfy the following conditions: 


Grant Conditions:



  • Applicant must have had a current resident permit of a GCC state for at least 6 months.


  • Applicant's resident permit for a GCC state must be valid for at least another 6 months. 
The visa is issued on arrival at the airport in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 


  • The visa fee is paid to the Passport Officer on arrival in Bahrain, and a receipt is issued.



Entry conditions:



  • You must not take up paid employment during your visit to Bahrain. 


  • You must be able to support yourself (and any dependents) during the visit.

  • 
Visitor must have a valid confirmed onward ticket to leave Bahrain.

  • 
Passport must be valid for length of time you will be in Bahrain, or the length of the visa, whichever is longer.


  • If your passport validity is in doubt, you may be denied entry to Bahrain.


Stay conditions: 


Length of stay allowed is 3 days. 
The visa can be used only once, for a single entry.




Extension conditions:


This visa may be extended once you are in the Kingdom of Bahrain on payment of a fee.
The extension may require a Bahrain sponsor. 



Other conditions:


Applicant must show evidence of current residence in a GCC country.  


Visa on Arrival:


Visa on arriving at the airport is granted to nationals of the following countries: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vatican City and also GCC nationals and residents.


Transit Visa:


Transit visa will be issued to passengers subject to Bahrain Immigration rules. Refer to www.evisa.gov.bh. Transit visa is also issued to passengers who hold hotel voucher to stay in Bahrain. For further clarification on this issue please contact your airline directly.


Transit to Saudi:


You will be given a 24 hours transit visa upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport which has to be supported by a valid Saudi visa and appropriate travel documents showing travel within 24 hours of arrival in Bahrain.


 If you don’t get transit visa:


You can use Dilmun lounge. The arrangements depend on your flight cabin type. If you are traveling first or business class the arrangement would be free, but as for the economy passenger a 15.000 BD (around 57.00 USD) fees should be paid per person. Entry is subject to space available


 Bringing Pets:


To gain entry for your pet you must have a certificate that confirms that your pet is healthy and clear from any diseases, and your pet has to stay under the quarantine for a period of time until all papers are cleared regarding this matter.
