Hello 992 to report Crime and Corruption

Here’s a novel way to fight corruption. If you stumble upon a corrupt government office or any other malpractice in public sphere, all you have to do is dial “992” and on the other end an officer from Combating Corruption will be ready to assist you.
Called "Nazaha" or transparency, the innovative dial service is meant to help citizens to complain about bribery, embezzlement and abuse of power. The name itself is self-explanatory as it strives to bring about transparency in of the intention of the confidential hotline.
According to Major Bassem Al Miraj, spokesman of the General Directorate of Economic and Electronic Security and Anti-Corruption, corruption is “abusing government position for achieving personal profits.” He says that most people are not aware of the fact that even offering gifts to public servants is an act of offence which is punishable by three year sentence
The Anti-Corruption Committee, consisting of experts, is well aware of the depth of this burning issue which affects both developed and under developed nations alike. “The material gains and lack of internal auditing in some institutions are behind such an illegal phenomenon” major added.
Speaking of corruption cases dealt by the directorate so far this year, Major Al Miraj said that the number decreased from 19 last year to only six this year, which, he said, were mostly bribery cases.
